Puppy Love

At the Monroe Human Society and Adoption Center the poor conditions of the shelter are often shadowed by the adorable dogs and puppies who reside there. Thanks to the hard work and genuine love and care of the employees, the unfortunate animals who live here are well taken care of and happy.A close up of young Paige on Wednesday April 15, 2009 makes it hard to believe someone could abandon such a cute puppy.
Sadly, this photo taken on Wednesday April 15, 2009 is a glimpse of the overall condition of the shelter in Monroe.
Left at the shelter before it opened on Tuesday April 14, 2009 young Paige quickly makes friends with her neighbor Murphy.
Barely 5 weeks old on Tuesday April 14, 2009, Murphy resides in a small cage tucked away in the back of the shelter until he is old enough to be adopted.
Signs like the one seen on Lillie Belle's cage on Tuesday April 14, 2009 offer important information about each dog to anyone who visits the shelter.
Young Duke and Buddy are just two of the many black dogs at the shelter. Still unadopted on Tuesday April 14, 2009 proves that black dogs are the hardest to find good homes for.

On Monday April 13, 2009 shelter employee, Jennifer, tends to a cut tail on dog Betta
3 year old Shep is the man of the house at the shelter having been there since he was a puppy, he now enjoys the nice weather on Monday April 13, 2009
On Monday April 13, 2009 Brody, a friendly Terrior mix, begs to be adopted just as the sign posted on his cage does
